It’s not all playtime

Had fun on Thursday afternoon, playing with my new supplies. Didn’t actually do any layouts but sorted out my new goodies and found homes for everything.

Friday Christy was in the school district swimming carnival.

She was only in one race – came second last but at least she finished – so we were home just after 10am. Instead of heading straight to the scrapbook room I thought I’d be a good girl and start on organising the study/spare room.

BEFORE: There is a desk under there somewhere.

There is still a bit more work to be done. I’m going to move all my romance books up here and let the girls have the downstairs book case. Kevin did lift the photocopier onto the drawers for me. It’s so nice walking past this room now :-).

Work done, I had some lunch and then completed these.

And for a laugh a close up of the photos:

And finally, a layout by Christy. I was pretty impressed as I didn’t help her at all.

GONE CAMPING – Be back Monday

Kioloa - April 2004

Later on today (after I complete my mega-long to-do list) we’ll be heading off down the coast to Kioloa. We first camped here back in 1993 – just after we were married. It’s a beautiful part of the world, more-so because you can take your dogs. Sam and Belle had many wonderful holidays here and I can’t wait for Rosie and Bailey to discover the fun of camping, and the freedom of Kioloa Beach. The girls and Kevin are excited, and I’m sure I will be to once the to-do list is all crossed off :-). AND…. big news here….I’m not taking my laptop. I plan on spending time with family, friends and hopefully getting lots of reading done. Talk to you all on Monday.

Farewell to the Hawks

Hawks last ever game

I’m a bit sad today. Last night was the last time we got to see our local basketball team, the Hawks, play. They have been forced out the league by stupid new regulations that have been introduced – to protect teams from going bankrupt!!!! So sad, for the players, their families, all the people who work for the Hawks, and for us, the fans. We’ve been season ticket holders for the last 3 years, and about 3-4 years before we had kids. The game last night was fantastic. It was  a sell out crowd and we WON!!!!! I was so happy for them to win their last ever home game. We were joined by Kay and Sean, who have been to quite a few games with us the last few years.

Our 2 most famous players have been with the Hawks for 14 years and have played together since they were juniors. They retired their number tonight in a rather moving ceremony. I have to admit to being nearly in tears a few times. I’m always a little sad at the end of season but this time I can’t say, we’ll be back next Summer. I hope at least some of players find a spot on another team but we’ll not get to see them play as there is no longer any New South Wales teams – at one stage we had 3. The Hawks were the last remaining of the starting teams back in 1979.
