New Years Meme

Here’s a great meme I found on tip junkie. It’s a great way to reflect back on the year that was.

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?

Had weight loss surgery, went for a swim at our local beach,

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I do goals, not resolutions. Met some, not others and the ones for 2008 have already been blogged.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No, not this year. Most of my friends all have school age kids.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My grandfather.
5. What countries did you visit?

USA and Mexico
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?

More social time with friends, esp. my girlfriends.

7. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Deciding to, and having weight loss surgery.

8. What was your biggest failure?

Losing weight without surgery 🙂

9. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No.

10. What was the best thing you bought?

A new dog – Rosie.

11. Where did most of your money go?

The kids….need I say more.

12. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Developing my blog and learning to download photos, and finally losing weight.

13. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
b) thinner or fatter?
c) richer or poorer?

Happier, thinner, financially the same – we tend to spend all we earn.

14. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Participating in life.

15. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Yelling at kids.

16. What was the best book you read?

Dragonfly in Amber – Diana Gabadon (I’m just a little behind with the series)

17. What did you want and get?

That’s a hard one. Can’t really think of anything in particular.
18. What did you want and not get?

A new kitchen table.
19. What kept you sane?

My family and reading my favourite blogs.
20. Who did you miss?

My dog who was put to sleep in Nov, 06. Some of the friends I made in playgroup – with my youngest starting school it’s been hard to keep in contact (and we used to see each other every week)

Full steam ahead for 2008

nye2007

Well, I’ve been putting the final touches on my goals for 2008. I really am excited about the coming year. It’s going to be a big one. Both Kevin and I should reach our goal weights and probably have some cosmetic surgery, we have a trip to Queensland and a trip out to Ayres Rock to look forward to, and I need to start planning our trip to the UK in 2009, not to mention all the little things I hope to achieve. I’m not going to make limiting computer time a goal this year cause now that I’ve discovered blogs that it just not going to happen. I am an addict but I do feel the inspiration I get from my favourite blogs really does enrich my life and makes me want to do more and be better. And that has be a good thing :-).

New Years Eve 2007

7 random things (about Christmas)

I’ve been tagged byKez for the 7 random things about me Meme. I did one a few month back so this time I’m going to do it in relation to Christmas.

1. As far back as I can remember we had friends over for a Christmas Eve Party – we still this today.

2. My decorations go up earlier each year – this year it was mid-November

3. My decoration come down 1-2 days after Christmas

4. I’ve been doing a photo-handmade Christmas card for over 10 years.

5. I’m lucky enough not to have a lot of people to buy Christmas presents for (only child and don’t see dh’s family)

6. Once we had kids we decided we were staying home EVERY Christmas and whoever wants to come is welcome.

7. It’s our tradition to have French Toast (savory) for breakfast on Christmas Day.

I’m not really into tagging people (though I do like to be tagged :-)) but this was fun so if you’d like to do it please join in.

7 Random Facts About ME

Annie has tagged me to share 7 random facts about myself. Hmm… lets see

1) I’m one of very few Australians who does not like Vegemite.

2) I wear a compression stocking EVERY day because of a blood clot I had 8 years ago (and will have to wear it for the rest of my life)

3) I’ve been with Kevin since I was 14, married at 21. Still happily together over 20 years later.

4) I become emotional (and sometimes cry) when I hear bagpipes (both my parents are Scottish)

5) My favourite actor is Brendan Fraser.

6) Until the last couple of years I had long, painted nails. Now I have gel nails cause they kept on breaking.

7) I am only child and very happy about it – I had a terrific childhood.

This was fun. I can see some good scrapbook page ideas here…..
