Burrill Lake – Day 4

Me with bunny ears

Happy Easter!!

Amy, Kevin & I awoke about 6am. I got a cup of tea and snuggled back in bed with the laptop until Christy woke. Then it was time to check out what the Easter bunny had bought. The girls had left a card and there was a thankyou letter, some PJs and a chocolate bunny.

After sampling some of the chocolate, we went to visit the Powell. We gave them this basket filled with eggs, and chickens for the girls.

There was also a visit by the Easter bunny…

Breakfast today was hot cross buns, and Kevin made a trip to the local McDonalds to get some “real” coffee for him and Noel. Since was another beautiful day we decided to take the kids to the beach for a few hours. We hung out here for a bit and Kevin dragged the girls around in the tube.

Then headed over to the surf. It was cold but lots of fun.

After some lunch Kevin & Noel took Amy and Sarah fishing on the boat (they also had a swim). Leanne & I took the younger girls to theĀ  pool, then spent some time reading (and drinking more tea).

Burrill Lake – Day 3

Waiting

Another fun, lazy, relaxing day – well, for those us who didn’t go on the tube.

We had a slow start to the morning. There was a clown show for the kids.

Then since it was another nice day, we decided to take the boat out again.

The new boat

I didn’t go out today but everyone else had a go, even Leanne.

We had a late lunch and later enjoyed an ice-cream. I made Kevin take all the kids down to the ice-cream truck.Kevin leading girls to ice cream van Kevin & girls Girls eating ice cream cones

Not much else to report for the day. Plently of sitting around, enjoying the company of Leanne and Noel while the kids went off to play. Kevin & Noel did go out for a spot of shopping late in the afternoon and Kevin bought back some noodles for our dinner.

Burrill Lake Day 2

After a very nice nights sleep (Mum & Dad’s new van has a great bed), I enjoyed a cup of tea in bed while playing on the laptop (such a holiday luxury to do this in bed). I’m not sure what time I got up and dressed but we enjoyed a hot cross bun for breakfast with the Powells.

Since it was such a nice morning we decided to take the boat out again and let all the kids (including the 2 big ones) have a go on the inflatable. Everyone had a great time.Alyssa and Christy

It started to get overcast and we were all getting a little hungry so called it a day and headed back to the van park. We had some lunch and the kids all took off playing and riding their bikes. At 3pm they could buy plastercast moulds and sat painting for the next hour.

Girls all ready to paint Christy and her plastercast

Us adults sat around drinking tea (beer for the guys – Kevin is enjoying his homemade ginger beer) and chatting. I also worked on some knitting and read a magazine or two.

Around 7pm we had some dinner (pasta tonight) and chatted some more. It’s been a good day. Very lazy and relaxing.

Burrill Lakes

All set for Easter fun

After a bit of delayed start we arrived at Burrill Lakes around 12.30pm. Mum & Dad were already here and had just finished setting up the van. We enjoyed lunch together and finished getting our things sorted.

After Mum & Dad left we took the boat out for a bit of fun. The girls had a ball being towed on the inflatable.

Later on Kevin & I went for a bike ride, we then hung out (on the internet) while we waited for the Powells to arrive.
